William M. Shoop, Sr.

William Miller "Bill" Shoop, Sr., 91, of Fredericksburg, VA, died Monday, February 14, 2005 at 
Mary Washington Hospital.

He is survived by Evelyn Shoop, his beloved wife of 73 years. He was the father of William 
Shoop, Jr., of Ocean City, MD and the late Betty Groff. Other survivors include 8 
grandchildren 20 great-grandchildren and 22 great-great-grandchildren.

During World War II, he served in the U.S. Navy and had a career of 40 years with the Coca 
Cola Company. During that time, he worked in Lancaster and Harrisburg, PA and was manager at 
the Steubenville, OH and Fredericksburg plants. He was employed by the Fredericksburg Auto 
Auction for 20 years. He was a member of the Fredericksburg Kiwanis Club and Ferry Farm 
Baptist Church.

The viewing will be from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, February 16, 2005 at Ferry Farm Baptist Church. A 
funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, February 17, 2005 at Ferry Farm Baptist Church. 
Following the service, entombment will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Ferry Farm Baptist Church Building 
Fund, 1 Westmoreland Drive, Fredericksburg, VA 22405.
