Kenneth S. Shoop

A former resident of Halifax for 81 years, before moving to the
Pittsburgh area, Kenneth was the ninth child born to Elmer H. and Vada
Saltzer Shoop of Enterline on March 27, 1916, and passed on peacefully
to his eternal home on August 10, 2003.

He was predeceased by his parents, five sisters, three brothers,
father and mother-in-law, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, and his best
friend and loving wife of 41 years, Leaphy Acker Shoop.

Kenneth is survived by a sister, Sara Shoop; two brothers, James and
Lee Shoop; four sisters-in-law, Evelyn, Ethel, Virginia and Grace
Shoop; and two brothers-in-law, Charles and Peter Acker; and a host
of nieces, nephews and friends.

His immediate survivors are his loving daughter, Tana Grunberg and
her husband, Rich; his grandchildren, Tausha and Zachary and his wife,
Terri; a great-granddaughter, Hayley; and a forthcoming great-grandson
to be born in September.

Kenneth was a brother and friend to many; and a very special father
and grandfather. He graduated from Halifax High School in 1934; had
been self-employed for many years; and was well-known as the "Action
Battery Man". Later, he was an employee of TRW and a local real estate
sales associate until his retirement. He was a member of the former
Union Church in Powells Valley and a member of Halifax United Methodist
Church. Kenneth enjoyed hunting and the outdoors, and spending time
with his family. He was extremely proud of his grandchildren. He will
be missed, as he was a bright star in their lives, and will now shine
forever in their sky.

Visitation will be Thursday, August 14th, from 12:30-2 p.m. with
service to follow in the sanctuary of Halifax United Methodist Church,
105 Windhill Drive, with Pastor George Barto officiating. Interment will
follow in Riverview Memorial Gardens.

Methodist Church or by the Cemetery Association of Union Church for
perpetual care of the Elmer Shoop family members, c/o Paul D. Shoop,
Enterline Road, Halifax, PA 17032. The family requests no flowers
