Charles W. Matter

LYKENS - Charles W. "Butch" Matter, age 61, of 711 Market Street, passed
away Thursday at home. 

He was employed by Yellow Freight, East Petersburg and a 1960 graduate 
of the former Lykens High School. He was a member of St. Christopher
Evangelical Lutheran Church; Liberty Hose Company, No. 2; Erdman Gun
Club; Lower Northumberland Gun Club; Short Mountain Gun Club; Loyal
Order of Moose, Marysville and enjoyed hunting and all outdoor sports. 

He was born in Harrisburg, September 8, 1941, son of Dorothy M. Matter,
Wiconisco and the late Charles B. Matter. He was also preceded in death
by a sister, Joan Matter Goho. 

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Donna M. Kupp 
Matter; 2 sons, David Matter of Harrisburg and Troy Matter of Lykens; a
daughter, Tracy Erdman of Millersburg; a step-son, Richard Kupp of
Lykens; 2 step-daughters, Tracy Forrest of Oakmont, PA and Stacy Jenkins
of Wiconisco; a brother, MichaelMatter of Tower City; a sister, Judith
Kaster of Wiconisco and 5 grandchildren. 

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Monday, at the John
R. Shultz Funeral Home, with the Rev. Joshua L. Reinsburrow
officiating. Interment in Calvary United Methodist Cemetery,
Wiconisco. Viewing will be from 10-11:30 a.m., at the funeral home,
where Liberty Hose Company services will be held at 11:15 a.m.
